This book is just awful -

It is edited terribly, and very confusing, It's just really seems a listing of all the cases ever decided - awfully structured - a terrible way to learn ethics - it takes a subject that could be interesting and makes it terribly, boring. The book is fundamentally hard to read, hard to remember. It is totally not useful as a teaching tool. In the hands of an inexperienced professor its a nightmare!

Gillers, don't suffer anyone else your bad text books again. You've taken an interesting subject, made it bland, confusing, and almost incomprehensible. Please, professors considering this book - look somewhere else - don't encourage him to write again!

Excellent Resource for Studying

This was my first experience using E&E, and it was great: it gave a thorough and easy-to-understand background on all the areas of evidence in which I had fallen behind during the semester. The book is organized according to the federal rules, but has a fair amount of philosophy and some tangential references to common law as well. I only wish I had started using this series earlier.

The E&E series is very helpful in prepping for exams. The summaries and charts make great aids in outlining. Debating the hypos on my own and with my study group really helped. Most exams are essay responses to hypotheticals, so the book prepares you well.

You need this to study for the bar!

This book contains vital information you need to pass the bar exam that they don't cover in enough detail in law school, nor even in the prep courses that cost you an arm and a leg. If I could only find a book like this for the rest of the multistate subjects, I'd be in legal heaven! It has explanations, examples, and questions you can practice with. I'd have gladly paid twice the price for this book. (PS - I had Professor Best for Torts in law school. He's very good.)

Great efficient, time saver

This book offers law students with a time saving alternative to piecing together the 120+ cases in your textbook to form a picture of Constitutional Law.

Unlike your law professor, the author of this book does not play hide the ball. The relevant Constitutional Law issues and conclusions are clearly identified with no tricks, answerless hypotheticals, or the shameful deceptions that you are likely to find in a Constitutional Law textbook.

The book is well organized and written in a way that you can easily come up with the "black letter law" and modes of argument so that you can be successful in your class.

This book's coverage is very broad; it can be used for both Constitutional Law and Constitutional Rights classes.

It has a "Capsule Summary" that briefly explains the major points that the book will cover. I read over the Capsule Summary and found it very helpful in creating a framework that helped me understand everything in detail throughout the rest of the book.

Emanuel has already peiced the cases together for you. You can figure out what the common state of Constitutional Law very quickly. This is very helpful if your professor is going to give you an issue-spotter/essay test.

I am very pleased with the experience that I had with this book (2005 edition). I rarely went to my Constitutional Law class and never did any of the readings. I studied this book in the days leading up to the final exam and scored in the top 10% of the class! If I could do this, then it is not too far fetched to believe that a diligent/more intelligent student would have even more impressive results.

Great companion book

This book is a great companion book for any of the texts (or any courses you may take) on Con Law. In fact, at this late date in the semester, I am using it exclusive of the required text and it is getting me to all the necessary points. Highly recommended.
