there are better case briefs

The casenotes briefs are not nearly as good as other brief books such as the legal lines series. This book limits itself to the cases, and does not add any additional information that may be found in the notes of your text book. That means, because the cases are so heavily edited in most casebooks, the notes within the book don't match up that much. Rather than explaining information, they use literal quotes and passages from the cases that do not always clarify the meaning of the case.

The product was everything it said it would be; however, in a subject like constitutional law, these briefs probably won't do you much good. First of all, if you're looking for case briefs in Con Law, make sure that you're planning to use them to actually supplement your reading assignment instead of replacing it. Relying on these briefs to get you through recitation will probably result in an embarrassing class experience.
If you feel the need to supplement, I would recommend that you analyze your professor's teaching style before buying these briefs. If your professor lectures in a fact-intensive manner and asks questions about the procedural history of the case, then these may be helpful. However, every Con Law professor breaks down the arguments and reasoning in different ways -- it's not as straightforward as Contracts! One professor at our school had one student recite for the majority opinion and another for the dissent. Mine, however, split us up into "sides", and we would actually argue the case based on the legal issues and arguments. Also, a lot of constitutional issues were/are controversial -- so your professor may have a strong opinion.
Wait and see how the first few classes go before buying case briefs. If you're really looking for a supplement, I would strongly recommend a commercial outline. Emmanuel's Crunchtime has some very helpful flow charts.
