Should be called "Federal" Civil Procedure

Don't buy this book if you are looking for a good step by step book on filing complaints or answering complaints in state court. The description mentions Federal Rules but doesn't make clear that this is basically a book about Federal Civil Procedure. There are virtually no examples of pleadings and the whole book is only one long drawn out case about employment discrimination; virtually useless outside federal courts. I was extremely disappointed that this wasn't made more clear in the description.

Good workbook for additional practice

This is a pretty good book to follow along with during a civil procedure course. The book does reduce the topics to the point that anyone could understand the concepts. This is good in some instances, but it can also become tedious. I really enjoyed the hypothetical lawsuit that the book follows. My teacher often uses these examples in class and the model complaint/answer/etc. have been very helpful.

Does a great job to teach fundamentals

Useful as the illustrations help break down the entire process for you. It really helps understanding the already difficult subject matter a bit more entertaining. This book was required for my law class.
